Since being back from New Zealand a few people of asked me what we did and the truth is we did soo much it’s hard to remember so I thought I’d have a go – here is my attempt in no particular order – with links to some if your interested.

We cruised on Milford Sound,

went sandboarding at and rode in a bus up 90 mile beach (which isn’t 90 miles).

 

We watched whales from a helicopter http://www.kaikourahelicopters.co.nz/index.cfm/whale

Den did the Haaka on the stage in Rotorua.

 

We went to the Waitangi  Treaty House

and to a thermal reserve and saw geysers and boiling mud.  We went to the top of Skytower, Auckland, we sailed out to the Hole in the Rock at the Bay of Islands, we went to see Glow worms in a cave.

 

In Queenstown we went on the Skyline gondola and a 4×4 tour of Lord of the Ring locations.

We bought Jade, we saw a Kiwi and a possum,

went on a tram in Christchurch and to the top of the Cathedral.

went  to a rugby match in Wellington (Hurricanes v Reds (Aussie team)), went to the Museum and ‘experienced’ and earthquake,

went to Kapiti Island Nature reserve (only 50 visitors a day allowed) ,

bought Hokonui ‘moonshine’ whisky

saw the pancake rocks and blow holes on the west coast http://www.punakaiki.co.nz/

saw Mount Cook and numerous other mountains and waterfalls including HukaFalls

We learnt lots about the Maori culture, possums, kiwis, New Zealand life, sport.

 

Bought stuff, ate and drank too much, met lovely people, listened to lots of songs,  climbed lots of hills (much to Den’s dismay), got lost on a walk back to our hotel (but found our way)..

 

 

 

We never did a bungy jump though!
